Mr. George Washington Gilbert passed away Wednesday. He was born Feb. 22, 1945, to the late Willie Gilbert and Annie Gilbert in LaGrange, Georgia.

He united with Roe’s Chapel United Methodist Church, ggraduated from Ethel W. Kight High School, and was previously employed by Wal-Mart, Troup County Schools, and Milliken.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Gilbert; children:  Pamela Gilbert, Stephanie Hudson, Andrea Gilbert, George Gilbert, Jr., Tina (Chad) Cooper; several grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brothers and sisters:  Linda Gilbert, Willie (Sheba) Gilbert, Rosie Sharman,  Willie Gilbert, Jr., Daryl (Elizabeth) Miles, Jerry (Cynthia) Gilbert, Charlie Gilbert,  Michelle Gilbert, Christine Gilbert, Emily Gilbert, Heather Gilbert, Crystal Gilbert, Frank Gilbert, Willie Gilbert III, Leo Gilbert,  A. D. Gilbert and  Christopher Gilbert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Service will be Saturday at 1 P.M. at Roe’s Chapel UM Church.

The excellent care of Mr. Gilbert is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
