Carl Jerome Cotton, (72), of LaGrange departed on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Wellstar

West Georgia Medical Center.

 Mr. Carl Jerome Cotton, the son of the late Horace, Sr. and Mable Cotton was born in Lagrange, Georgia.

 Carl was a graduate of the East Depot High Class of 1968.

 He was an active member and officer of Burks Chapel UMC and an active supporter of the Warren Temple UMC Community Food Program.

 Carl was an Alumni of Fort Valley State University, a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity and received his master’s degree.

 He served as the Chief Epidemiologist for the Department of Public Health for the State of Georgia. 

 He leaves to cherish his memory; one brother Horace (Denise) Cotton, Jr. of Lagrange and one sister Carolyn Cotton Hollis of Rex, Georgia.  

 He is preceded in death in addition to his parents and grandparents by one brother Cletis Cotton.

 Funeral Services will be held on Friday at Noon at Warren Temple UMC with the Rev. Carl Epps officiating and Rev. Lonnie Thornton, Eulogist.

 The interment will be in Southview Cemetery.

 A Chapel public viewing will be held on Thursday from 5 P.M.-7 P.M.

 The family will receive friends at the home of his brother Horace Cotton, Jr. at 507 Riverside Drive.
