Gaye Ann Shipp, (68), of LaGrange, Georgia, beloved mother of Alison Shipp and the late Bret Shipp, entered into Heaven on June 2, 2023, following a long illness.

In addition to her beloved daughter Alison, Gaye is survived by her brother Stu and his wife Mary, nephew Donny, niece Jennifer and her cousins Patty, Terry, Craig, Penny, Bret, Gregg, Kelly, Linda, Tom and Janice.

Gaye, the daughter of the late Lee Gorman of LaGrange and her late husband Edward, was a charming, friendly, free-spirited person who enjoyed life to the fullest.

Gaye parlayed an education in Cosmetology – the Art and Science of Beauty – into a career in hairstyling that ultimately resulted in her opening the Gaye Shipp Salon in LaGrange, a pinnacle of her career. Along the way, Gaye made many friends in all walks of life, who, along with her family, sorely miss her.

We invite all to a Memorial Service in Celebration of Gaye’s Life to be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the chapel at the First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, Georgia located at 401 Broad Street.  

The family will receive friends in the dining room at the church following the Memorial Service.

Ms. Shipp will be laid to rest in the church’s Columbarium. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Gaye’s name to Southeast-Canine Companions https://canine.org/donate/.
