Mr. Philip Earl Thompson, age 73, of LaGrange, died Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Harborview Healthcare in Thomaston.
Graveside services for Mr. Thompson will be held on Sunday, August 25, at 4 PM, at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
Mr. Thompson was born September 6, 1950, in LaGrange, Georgia and was the son of the late Emmett Walter Thompson, Jr. and the late Nannie O’Neal Thompson Cook.
He was a 1968 graduate of Greenville High School and later received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Finance from the University of Georgia.
Philip retired from West Georgia Medical Center as the Director of Human Resources.
He enjoyed his upbringing on “The Farm”, loved his family and friends, and was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. Mr. Thompson was a member of Greenville Baptist Church.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his nephews, Brad (Katherine) Thompson of Macon, and Brett (DeRynn) Thompson of Redondo Beach, California along with several great nieces and nephews as well as other extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Don and Barbara Thompson and his stepfather, JR Cook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Greenville Baptist Church, 1706 Church Street, Greenville GA 30222.
Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements.
