On November 11, 2024, at approximately 1600 hours, Officers responded to the area of 612 DeGroat Street, in reference to a subject being shot. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim, who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim stated he was standing in front of 612 DeGroat Street speaking with a friend, when he observed two Black Males, one wearing, red shorts, and a hoodie covering his head, and the other wearing black pants, with a hoodie covering his head walk by. The victim stated both subjects appeared to have handguns on their person. The victim stated as he continued speaking with his friend, he heard several gun shots being fired. He stated when he looked, he observed the subjects who just walked by, shooting towards his direction from about a block away.  The victim stated after he realized that he had been shot, he observed the two subjects take flight on foot.

The criminal investigations division was contacted and responded to continue the investigation.
