On Wednesday morning, the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the new ownership at Creative Call-Ins and Wildflower MJ with a ribbon cutting.

Creative Call-Ins has been a mainstay in LaGrange for decades. Lori Jeter and Meagan Frye purchased the business last year.

“We just hadn’t had a grand opening or anything like that. The business has been in LaGrange for, like, 30 years, so it’s just a continuation,” Jeter said. “Meagan and I bought the business in October from the previous owners, and so we are continuing to do what they’ve always done, and we’re adding some new things to our menu.”

Creative Call-Ins shares the building with a separate business, Wallflower MJ. Creative Call-Ins provides gift baskets with delectable baked goods, while Wallflower, owned by Mallory DeNuzzia, offers floral arrangements, so it’s a complementary combination.

When the two purchased the business, Jeter was about to retire from physical therapy, but she knew she wanted to remain involved in the community and didn’t want to remain completely retired.

“We just thought it was a good opportunity and a business that has done so well in LaGrange, just to continue to do something fun that we would enjoy. We both enjoy cooking and baking and doing different things. Megan makes sourdough bread. That’s one of our new things that we’re doing,” Jeter said.

“Everything is baked here. We’ve got a kitchen in the back. Everything’s baked. A lot of the recipes are old ones. They’ve been around, like the orange blossoms, like 30 years. We’ve added things slowly,” Frye said, adding they now offer sourdough cinnamon rolls that are a fan favorite.

Creative Call-Ins is known for its orange blossoms, Strawberry Baby Cakes and cheese petals. Those are the staples, Jeter said.

Meagan and Lori are currently gearing up for Christmas, which is a big time of the year for the shop.

Jeter said companies often purchase upwards of 50 or more gift baskets for their customers or employees at Christmastime, so it can get really busy.

DeNuzzia joined in with the ribbon cutting because Wallflower moved locations. Wallflower started in 2020 on Hill Street but moved in with Creative Call-Ins in November of last year.

“We do everything from weddings to funerals to day-to-day stuff, birthdays, anniversaries, regular events. We have a bunch of corporate events,” DeNuzzia said.

DeNuzzia said the shared location has been a boon for both businesses.

“That’s been one of the coolest things because my customers will come in for flowers, and they’ll smell everything, and they’ll stop and say, you know, I need to go ahead and get gift baskets or whatever. And then somebody will come in for a basket and say, ‘Hey, can I add flowers?’” she said.

“We’re working on how to get that out, you know, as a package deal for people to just click on our websites. But it’s cool because people come in and do that all the time,” DeNuzzia said.
