The LaGrange Academy boys basketball team was made to sweat in their regular season finale on Friday, defeating Oak Mtn. 51-42 to snap a two-game losing streak.
Both offenses got off to a slow start with the game locked at a 10-10 tie after the opening quarter.
At halftime, the Warriors of LaGrange Academy found themselves trailing 27-24.
There was no panic on the LaGrange Academy sideline as the squad has earned its identity as a second-half team time and time again this season and Friday’s contest was no exception. The Warriors would go on to outscore Oak Mtn. 18-9 in the third quarter and 9-6 in the fourth to close the game out.
Alex Jarvholm would lead the way for the Warrior attack, finishing with 16 points. Kayde Bradfield scored 13 points while Owen Sells scored nine.
LaGrange Academy will end the regular season with a 13-7 record. The Warriors await to see what seed they will earn going into the state playoffs. GIAA uses the MaxPreps rankings to decide seeding. LaGrange Academy was ranked fourth going into Friday’s game.
