With much of Hogansville still without power due to the early morning storms on Saturday as of late Monday afternoon, crews are still working round the clock to get the electricity back flowing for residents.

“It’s been a mess, and it’s a widespread mess. It goes beyond just Hogansville Power. It got into Diverse Power and Georgia Power territory. But it’s slowly all coming together,” Hogansville City Manager Lisa Kelly said.

Kelly said they have three crews working to restore power along with Diverse and Georgia Power.

There are still many power lines down and a couple of primary power lines that are out, she said.

Kelly said she has spoken with the electric superintendent and with power contractors for an update, but work is still ongoing.

“They’re telling us that they’re they’re here. They expect to be here after dark and hope to have everything back up in Hogansville by midnight,” Kelly said.

Electric workers expect to have the biggest swath of outages fixed by the end of the day.

“They’ve gotten those pretty much in order, and now they’re just working the smaller ones where lines are pulled from poles and neutrals are down, or service lines are down, so hopefully, as of midnight, the only thing we should have down is anybody that had damage to their mast or meter bases where repairs are needed,” Kelly said.
