The LaGrange boys soccer team eked out a narrow 2-1 win over St. Anne-Pacelli on the road on Tuesday in a thrilling encounter.
The first half was back-and-forth with each team grabbing a goal before halftime.
Kenzo Sato would open the scoring with a pulsating 25-yard shot that whistled past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
It relieved a lot of pressure on the Grangers, who were outshot 10-1 in the early goings.
Pacelli would score later in the first half to send the game to halftime all tied up.
LaGrange would find a game-winning goal in the second half when Aiden Collins danced down the right side of the field and scored. Unfortunately, the team’s star senior would be taken off with an injury shortly after scoring the game-winning goal.
LaGrange improved to 2-2 on the season. The Grangers will be back in action on Friday away to Bremen.
