Mrs. Rosalie Esther Coulombe, 100, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Florence Hand Home in LaGrange, Georgia.
Mrs. Coulombe was born July 30, 1924, in New London, CT; daughter of the late Gaspare and Angelina Tudisca.
She attended elementary and high schools in Pawcatuck, CT. She graduated from the Connecticut College for Women in 1946 with degrees in languages. Upon graduation, she was employed by an export company in New York City to perform translations. She later returned to Connecticut and became the Librarian in Charge at the University of Connecticut Library Extension in New London. When the Library Extension returned to the main campus in Storrs, CT, she worked there first as a Reference Librarian and then set up their first Pharmacy Library.
In 1952, she married Raymond F. Coulombe and moved to Milford, CT, where she taught school and sold real estate. In 1975, she and her husband moved to LaGrange, GA as the result of a company relocation. There, Mr. and Mrs. Coulombe enjoyed playing golf and bridge and traveling.
Survivors include: one daughter, Serena Coulombe of LaGrange; two sons, Ray Coulombe, Jr. (Fatiha) of Milford, CT, and Michael Coulombe (Kay) of Duluth, GA; two grandchildren, Steven Coulombe of Louisville, KY, and Shannon Coulombe of Atlanta, GA; and one brother-in-law, Warren Mulston of Orange, CT. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and her sister, Serena.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 20th at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Father Timothy A. Gadziala officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Mrs. Coulombe to St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 200 Lafayette Parkway, LaGrange, GA 30241, or to Wellstar West Georgia Hospice, 1514 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.
