Thomas Sutherland Johnson born 11/7/1952, in LaGrange, Georgia, the third child of Memory Sutherland and Forrest Clark Johnson, Jr., died 02/17/2025, at Twin Fountains Nursing Home in LaGrange, Georgia.

A graduate of LaGrange High School and LaGrange College, Tom majored in Studio Art.

He studied under John Lawrence and did further studies in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in the summer of 1972 where he created many unique jewelry pieces, photography, paintings and drawings.

Later Tom became a Master Gemologist. A true 70’s hippie, he struggled with addiction during his young adult years but was able to overcome this affliction when he reconnected and married his college friend, Crystal T. Luke.

Tom is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Forrest Clark Johnson III, and his brother-in-law, Charles Moore Wallace.

He is survived by his two sisters, Memory Dunson “Dee” Johnson Wallace of LaGrange and Rebecca Randall Johnson Watts (John) of Lynchburg, Virginia; Sister-in-law Deborah Ferguson Johnson; nieces Memory Marie “Ree” Wallace Snellgrove (Bill), Anne Allene Wallace McSorley (Joey), Jessica Leigh Johnson Moorhead (Brooks), Catherine Dunson Watts (Luis Renta), Elizabeth Forrest Watts; nephews Forrest Clark Johnson IV (Shannon), Albert Drake Watts II (Jessica), and Christian Fergurson Sutherland Dunson Johnson (Skye) and 14 great nieces and nephews. Uncles and Aunts John Clark Sutherland (Lesley), Charles Burris Johnson II (Betty) and Jo Anne Hopkins also survive Tom.

A private, family inurnment service will be held in early March at Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange.
