The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce celebrated the opening of Hughston Homes’ new office on Lafayette Square with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday morning.

Originally from Columbus, Georgia, Hughston Homes has been in business for over 50 years. The company has been building and selling homes in LaGrange for a while but only recently opened its storefront in town.

“We’re very excited to be a part of this LaGrange community. The storefront has been here for a couple of months, and we really look forward to jumping this thing off, being the premier builder and servicing families in the LaGrange area,”  Sales Lead Immanuel Whitaker said. “This is the perfect time for us to branch out into LaGrange and help local families improve their quality of life with a brand new home.”

The builder already has a significant presence in LaGrange, with homes in Antler Ridge off Hines Road and the Bryant Lake Community on Hamilton Road.

Hughston Homes tries to be a one-stop shop for those looking for a new home. They build the homes and sell them with their own realtor team. They can even help find financing.

“We have our own marketing team. We have, like myself, our sales team, which are licensed real estate agents, both in Georgia and Alabama. And then, of course, we have our construction crew that builds these brand-new, beautiful homes,” said Jedidiah Baker, Troup County Area Manager and New Home Sales Specialist.

Baker said Hughston has homes with anything from 2300 to 4300 square feet of heated and cooled living space and up to six bedrooms. 

“We’ve got eight different homes in our current catalog that are available to be built,” he said.
