The Callaway boys soccer team had to dig deep on Friday to earn a 4-2 win over Fayette County.

The Tigers opened the scoring with a goal in the opening 10 minutes, but the Cavaliers were able to battle back.

Rickey Vaughn would open the scoring for the Cavaliers with a goal in the 28th minute on an assist by Jayden Bailey. Just four minutes later, Bailey scored a sensational free kick to give the Cavaliers a lead they would never surrender.

Vaughn would go on to be the provider in the second half, registering two assists.

Junior Jaylen Williams has found his stride. After scoring the game-winning goal last time out in a 1-0 region win over Pike County, Williams scored a brace in the second half on Friday.

Fayette County would add a second goal late in the contest on an own goal.

Brayden Morris made six saves in goal for the Cavaliers.

Callaway has now won three games in a row to improve to 5-3 overall and 1-0 in region play. The Cavaliers will return to the field next Tuesday on the road to Jackson for a region matchup.
