The Callaway girls soccer team cruised to a 3-0 win over Fayette County on Friday.
Despite the comfortable 3-0 final score line, assistant coach Jeff McGuffin felt that the Cavaliers could have scored more goals to ensure the victory.
Becca Bryan opened the scoring for Callaway with a goal in the eighth minute. Bianka Sola would score a goal just before halftime and early in the second half.
Isla Garcia would pick up an assist on Sola’s second goal of the night.
Alayna Leithleiter made seven saves in the goal to earn the clean sheet, which was her fourth of the season.
Callaway has won four of its last five games to improve to 5-2 on the season but remain 0-1 in region play. The Cavaliers will return to the pitch next Tuesday on the road to Jackson as the team looks to get their first region win of the season.
