LaGrange Police are actively investigating an incident at The Phoenix LaGrange Housing Authority homes where a young male was reportedly shot.

LPD Lt. John Slonaker confirmed that a teenage male had been shot Thursday evening around 6 p.m.

Slonaker said police were dispatched to the area in reference to a call that a teenager had been shot in the head.

“We got here on scene and made contact with a large crowd. There was a lot of screaming and yelling. We were able to finally make our way to the teenager and confirmed that he was suffering from gunshot a wound,” Slonaker said.

The victim was unconscious when police arrived. Officers began administering first aid until AMR arrived and he was released to paramedics. The undisclosed victim has since been airlifted to the hospital for emergency treatment.

“At this point, we’re working on the investigation and trying to figure out exactly what happened,” Slonaker said.
