Get out your green threads and party hats. It’s time once again to celebrate all things Irish with the 10th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party in Downtown LaGrange.

This year’s block party is scheduled for the 100 block of Main Street from 4 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15.

“This is the 10th anniversary of the event. It started in 2015 so we’re trying to make it special this year,” said Lily Hamilton. Director of Promotions and Marketing for the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority.

Hamilton said they will have a few new vendors for the event that do not compete with the existing downtown businesses who will be open to offer their own wares and tasty treats.

Specialty drinks will be also available at the local restaurants and pubs downtown.

The street will also be blocked off so attendees can enjoy their beverages, alcoholic and otherwise outside with the crowd.

The event is free to attend. Table reservations are currently sold out.

While it wouldn’t be a St. Patty’s Day party without the green beer, the event will be family-friendly, Hamilton said.

“We’re going to have face painters and a balloon animal artist out there that will be completely free for the kids, so that’s something that families can enjoy,” Hamilton said. “Derek Chapman is also going to be doing a free photo booth for the community.”

The block party each year is hosted by Downtown LaGrange, which is partnering with Visit LaGrange to help promote the event.
