The LaGrange girls soccer team made it three wins in a row on Thursday with a 4-1 victory over Spalding.
The Grangers had a chance to break the deadlock early with Herra Thurman’s shot getting saved by an acrobatic effort from the Jaguar goalkeeper and a shot from Briley Cooper flashing just wide a short time later.
LaGrange would eventually open the scoring with 17 minutes left in the first half when Reese Humphries was taken down in the penalty area. The junior would step up and dispatch the penalty kick with ease.
The game would go into halftime with LaGrange leading 1-0.
The Grangers would double their advantage in the second half when freshman Audrey Hill scored on an assist from Amelia Rockwell.
Humphries would score her second of the night and LaGrange’s third on an assist from Kelsey Burks.
Burks would cap off the scoring in the second half on a pass from Ava Arrington.
The Jaguars would get a goal back in the second half, but it did little to slow down the Granger momentum.
Morgan Barber made one save in goal for LaGrange.
LaGrange improved to 3-6 on the season and most importantly 3-0 in region play. The Grangers will play at Trinity Christian next Tuesday in another important region matchup.
