Major Surgical & Vein Clinic held its ribbon cutting on Tuesday in front of a large community turnout. The clinic is located at 1075 Lafayette Parkway, Suite 210. 

The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce held the ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the new clinic on Tuesday afternoon. The owner and operator of the practice, Dr. Ralston Major welcomed those gathered in the office building lobby. 

“This past year has been unique and challenging for me and my family….Many of you know, this has been a dream of mine for several years,” Major said. “My family and I are deeply grateful for the overwhelming love and encouragement from our friends, family, colleagues and patients. Your support made this journey possible.”

Major, a LaGrange native, is from a family full of doctors. His father, grandfather, uncle and brother have all gotten their white coats. The surgeon found a great need for a surgical clinic in LaGrange and Troup County that could perform both general surgeries and more complex vascular surgeries.

“It’s hard to recruit positions in a small town, just all over, [there is] a shortage of physicians,” Major explained. “There is a need for doctors who can handle the needs of the community. LaGrange is a community that needs good medical care, and that’s what we’re hoping to provide.”
