On March 12th at approximately 4:50 a.m., deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the 4000 block of New Franklin Road in reference to a home invasion and a reported structure fire.

Upon the arrival of deputies and the Troup County Fire Department, a small building in the front yard of the residence was a fully involved fire and located two females inside the home who appeared to be injured from stab wounds.

Investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division arrived on the scene and took over the investigation.

It was determined at this time that Desjavae Conway, a 34-year-old female from Dayton, Ohio, set the building on fire, unlawfully entered the home occupied by two females, and, for unknown reasons, stabbed each victim multiple times with a pair of scissors. She then stole their vehicle and left the location.

Conway was located a short time later and placed in custody. It is not believed that Conway knew the victims nor what her motive was at this time.

Conway was charged with Home Invasion, Arson, Armed Robbery and two counts of Aggravated Assault. Conway is being held in the Troup County Jail without bond.

This is an active investigation, nothing further at this time.
