The LaGrange baseball team dominated Spalding 10-0 to earn an important bounce-back region win.

The game would last all of five innings as the Grangers triggered the mercy rule.

After a scoreless first inning, LaGrange broke the game open with six runs in the second. Cooper Stephens got the LaGrange scoring party started with a sacrifice fly and it was all Grangers from there.

Sinjon Lash would make it 3-0 when he brought home the next two runs with a double. Rob Skinner grounded into a fielder’s choice to drive home the fourth run of the game. Gryson Cockrell would bring home the final two runs of the inning with a double.

The Grangers would tack on two more runs in the third courtesy of a two-run stinker by Laken Tippy.

An RBI groundout from Mason Calhoun in the fourth would make it 9-0 LaGrange.

The Grangers would add a 10th and final run in the top of the fifth thanks to an RBI single from Cam Kissun.

Lash led the LaGrange offense with two hits while Kissun, Tippy, Stephens, Cockrell, Skinner, Gardy Westmoreland, Mikey Parker and Qua Beasley all had one each.

Kayden Sutton got the start on the mound and was superb in his three innings of work, allowing just two hits on four strikeouts. Skinner and Caleb Allen pitched an inning each to close the game and neither allowed a hit.

LaGrange improved to 10-6 overall and 4-1 in region play. The Grangers will be back on the diamond next Tuesday at home in a rematch against Spalding.
