LaGrange High JV golf wins back-to-back tournaments

The LaGrange High JV boy’s golf team is on a roll. The Grangers won back-to-back tournaments this week to put their stamp on the young season.

On Wednesday, the Grangers took part in their first league match of the season, taking on five other teams and winning by five strokes over a strong Brookstone team. 

All six Grangers that took the course finished in the top 10. Sophomore William Petrus led LaGrange with 76 to finish in second place, just two strokes behind the winner.

Mack Martin shot an 82 to finish in sixth place. Andrew Terrell and Preston Williams tied for seventh place as both shot an 83. 

Eighth-grader AJ Griffith and sophomore Milan Solomon finished tied for 10th place with a score of 85.

The Grangers would turn around quickly and earn a win on Thursday in the JV Granger Invitational, beating South Forsyth by eight strokes.

Williams led the way for LaGrange on Thursday, shooting an 82 to finish in third place. Terrell finished just behind him in fourth place with a round of 86. Terrell and Williams were both named to the All-Tournament team. 

Solomon and Griffith each shot a 91 to finish tied for 10th place.

Freshman Whitfield Hammond finished in 19th place with a score of 106.
