Suzanne Grotheer Jackson, age 76, of LaGrange, GA passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.

Suzanne was born January 6, 1949, in Savannah, GA to the late Spencer Pierce Grotheer Sr. and Louise Gray Grotheer.

Suzanne was a true servant. She always looked for opportunities and ways to be the help someone needed. She cared for people when they were ill, prepared meals for people in need, mended clothing and made alterations and nurtured children when they crossed her path.

She was also an animal lover. Often, she would feed the strays and rescue them from traffic to try to find their home.

She loved her family and was loyal to them in every way. There was nothing she loved more than being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. They gave her the drive, motivation and will to fight against cancer. Suzanne was a strong and determined fighter even when all the odds were stacked against her during her six-year battle with stage four metastatic breast cancer. So much so, that her doctors and staff at City of Hope acknowledged her strength, determination and will to fight.

Most of all, she was a woman of faith. Even in those times when it felt as small as the mustard seed, she knew where her strength came from and knew that with Christ, all things were possible for those who believe. Suzanne will be missed by all who knew and loved her, but we are grateful for the lasting legacy she leaves behind.

She is survived by her daughters, Emily (Marshall) Hill and Rachel (Donnie) Arndt grandchildren, Liam Arndt, Oliver Arndt, Annie Sue Arndt, Emmaline Arndt and Libby Lousie Arndt; sister-in-law, Jane Grotheer; nieces Joyce Ann (Hunt) Leaf, Tracy (Ken) Wood and Pat (Lee) Bennington; nephews, Rob (Gayle) Grotheer and Steve (Cheryl) Grotheer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donald Ray Jackson and brothers, Spencer P. Grotheer and Robert A. Grotheer (Ann).

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM April 11, 2025, at First Presbyterian Church LaGrange, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the City Of Hope in Newnan GA or Wellstar West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, GA.
