The Troup baseball team is on a tear. The Tigers made it 11 wins in a row with a 13-2 victory over Upson-Lee on Friday evening.

The Tigers opened the scoring in the bottom of the first after holding the Knights to no runs in the top of the inning. Carson Walker got an RBI on a ground out to open the scoring.

Troup would double its lead in the second inning courtesy of a Garrison Edwards one-run single.

The Tigers would go on to take a commanding 6-0 lead with four runs in the fourth inning. Edwards continued his hot start to the game with a two-run single. Davis Moncus followed with an RBI triple. Fisher Baltzell got in on the fun with a one-run double.

The Troup offense showed no signs of slowing down, adding two more runs in the fifth inning. Courtney Wilson hit a solo homer and Edwards drove in a run with a single.

The Knights finally responded with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth inning, but it only delayed the inevitable. Troup would go on to end the game by mercy rule with five runs in the sixth inning. Torreion Delaney singled to drive home the first two runs of the inning. Wilson would hit his second home run of the game, this one bringing home three runs, to end the game by mercy rule.

Edwards was superb from the plate, going 4-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Wilson also had a strong showing offensively, going 2-for-2 with four RBIs.

Walker and Baltzell also had two hits, while Trey Dean, Chase Mosley. Brady Willis, Ethan Goff and Moncus all had one apiece.

Moncus started on the mound for Troup and allowed just three hits on five strikeouts in his five innings of work. Carson Williams pitched the final inning in relief.

Troup improved to 17-6 overall and 11-1 in region play. The Tigers will host Russell County on Saturday at 1 p.m.
