The Callaway girls soccer team was decked out in pink on Friday for the 12th annual Kicking Cancer game. The Cavaliers would earn a hard-fought 5-0 win over region foe Rutland.

Sofia Flores would open the scoring just a few minutes into the contest. The Cavaliers had multiple quality chances to double their lead in the first half, including a powerful shot from Isla Garcia that flashed just wide with six minutes left before halftime. Garcia would come close again when another cannon shot hit the side netting just outside the post.

The Cavaliers would eventually double their lead before halftime as Flores scored on what was literally the last touch of the half, as the ball trickled over the goal line as the buzzer pierced the air.

Callaway added a third goal 15 minutes into the second half, with Flores finding the back of the net to cap off her hat trick.

Senior Bianka Sola would kill the game off with a goal just over halfway into the second half, putting Callaway up 4-0.

Freshman Ella Kelly scored just minutes later to put the Cavaliers up by five goals.

The ever-unselfish Becca Bryan ended the game with two assists. Zoe Molina and Sola had an assist apiece.

Callaway improved to 11-5 overall and 6-4 in region play. The Cavaliers will return to the pitch next Tuesday at home against Lithonia for senior night.
