There were pink jerseys, pink paint on the fields and pink in the stands on Friday as the Callaway boys soccer team hosted Rutland for its annual Kicking Cancer game. The Cavaliers put on a show in front of their home crowd, dismantling the Hurricanes for a 9-0 victory.

It would take just minutes into the game before the Cavaliers broke the deadlock, with Rickey Vaughn doing the honors as the junior slalomed his way through the defense and found the back of the net.

This was just the start of a scintillating performance from the Callaway forward. Vaughn scored a whopping five goals.

Fellow junior Jayden Bailey got in on the fun with two goals, including one from the penalty spot. Braylon Bowles was fouled in the box early in the first half but passed on the penalty to one of the veterans on the squad. Bowles was rewarded for his unselfishness later in the game, scoring the final goal of the contest.

Andre Molina scored a goal for the Cavaliers on the night as well, poking in a goal in the first half on an assist from Vaughn.

Eventually, the Hurricanes ran out of options trying to corral Vaughn and the rest of the Callaway attack and resorted to fouling.

Brayden Morris made two saves in goal to keep a clean sheet.

Callaway improved to 11-6 overall and 7-3 in region play. The Cavaliers will host Lithonia next Tuesday for senior night.
