The LaGrange girls soccer team was at Georgia Southwestern University on Saturday for a matchup against Cairo, and it was all Grangers on the day. LaGrange mercy-ruled the Syrupmakers 10-0 as the team heads into the final week of the regular season.

Junior Reese Humphries was at the heart of the Granger attack on Saturday, as she usually is. The star midfielder scored four goals while providing four assists.

Freshman Audrey Hill continues to be a rising star for the Grangers and finished the game on Saturday with two goals.

Senior midfielder Emma Maradik also scored two goals and contributed two assists.

Regular keeper Morgan Barber was unavailable on Saturday, so former goalkeeper turned midfielder Maradik returned to her former spot for a good portion of the match and, along with freshman Kimberly Govea, helped to keep a clean sheet.

Herra Thurman and Briley Cooper each scored a goal for the Grangers.

LaGrange improved to 5-11 overall on the season and remained 4-3 in region play. The Grangers will take on East Coweta at home next Thursday before wrapping up the regular season with senior night against Fayette County on Friday. That final matchup will be pivotal as the winner of that game will get an automatic bid into the AAA state playoffs.
