On April 11, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of  Monroe Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim, identified as Demarrion Carter, had already been transported to a local hospital by family members.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Carter was outside his residence when an unidentified individual approached him and discharged a firearm. Carter sustained critical injuries as a result of the shooting and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The case is currently under active investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the LaGrange Police Department. Detectives are working to identify the suspect and determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
