Tax Day can be stressful, but a local business will provide a free icy treat to help everyone chill out.
On Tuesday, April 15, Kona Ice will continue their National Chill Out Day tradition by offering free cups of shaved ice to help everyone to relax after filing their returns.
The fun annual tradition celebrates American history with the motto “No Taxation Without Relaxation.”
“Kona Ice is turning Tax Day into a tropical escape, bringing good vibes and sweet relief to communities across LaGrange,” said Renee Ives of Kona Ice.
LaGrange Kona Ice owner Calvin Neely is bringing the fun giveaway to town. He said the sweet treat will give people an opportunity to slow down on an otherwise stressful day.
“This time of year can be overwhelming, so we want to give people a reason to smile and take a break,” Neely said. “National Chill Out Day is all about helping our communities relax, refresh and enjoy a little tropical treat— on us!”
This is the seventh year that the company has celebrated Tax Day with the shaved ice giveaway.
Layla Monazam of Kona Ice said similar events are being held all over the United States on April 15. Kona will host the giveaway in 49 states, she said.
A Kona Ice truck will be at Lafayette Square in LaGrange to serve free cups of shaved ice from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.
