Graveside services for James “Jim” Wesley Nappier, age 78, of LaGrange, will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM Central time at Randolph Memory Gardens with Jim Dansby officiating.
The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 PM Central time on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Mr. Nappier passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Florence Hand Home in LaGrange, GA.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Nappier of LaGrange.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Nappier was born on August 25, 1946, the son of John Thurman and Laura Atkins Nappier.
He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict where he was a helicopter pilot, held the rank of Captain, and was awarded the following awards: National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (1st Award), Vietnam Service Medal w/ 4 bronze stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/ 60 Device, Army Aviator Badge, Air Medal (37th), Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm and Silver Star, Distinguish Flying Cross, Bronze Star Medal, and 2 Overseas Service Bars.
Mr. Nappier worked for Milliken & Co, and after his retirement there, he worked at Realtree Camo.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
