The Callaway baseball team got back to winning ways on Wednesday, snapping a two-game skid with a 6-3 win over Bremen.
It was the Blue Devils that got on the board first, taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The Cavaliers would bide their time and eventually strike back, scoring five runs in the top of the fourth inning to take their first lead of the game. Lashun Gates hit a single to drive in the first run of the game for Callaway. Slade Hunt would follow with an RBI single of his own. Callaway grabbed an insurance run in the seventh inning courtesy of a Wesley Williams RBI double.

The junior pitched 5 ⅔ innings in which he allowed three hits and one earned run on eight strikeouts. Gates led the way for the Cavalier offense, going 3-for-3 with an RBI. Williams and Harrington had two hits each while Hunt, Jaxon Duncan, Luke Taylor, Jeremiah Staples and Kieron Pope all had one hit.
Callaway improved to 18-10 overall and 8-4 in region play. The Cavaliers have wrapped region play and will finish second in Region 2-2A. Callaway has one final game on the docket in the regular season as the team travels to Mundy Mill on Friday.
