Parenting Inside Out (PIO) is an evidence-based program from The Pathfinder Network that addresses the unique challenges facing criminal-justice-involved parents and their children.

In a classroom setting, parenting coaches lead students through a cognitive-behavioral parent management skills course to help each parent develop a parenting plan specific to the needs of their family.

With PIO training, criminal-justice-involved adults learn skills they can put into practice to become better parents and role models for their children.

Dr. Nicholas Griffin of ELVTD Youth and Mentoring (ELVTDYM) serves as a Parenting Inside Out parent coach at the Troup County Jail under the approval of Sheriff James Woodruff and Captain Marty Reeves. Dr. Griffin instructs men and women under the PIO curriculum and is proud to be the only program in the entire state of Georgia with this curriculum!

Congratulations to the following Parenting Inside Out graduates:

  • Angela Morrell
  • Cynthia Deisher
  • Chavon Hill
  • Charlotte McGruder

ELVTD Youth and Mentoring serves under The Pathfinder Network not only as an organization but also as a POPS Club whose mission is to “support youth impacted by incarceration and confront the challenges they experience; through arts-based programs, POPS creates a safe, empowering space for these youth, transforming stigma into hope and dignity so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, now and as adults”.

ELVTD Youth and Mentoring takes place weekly at the LaGrange Memorial Library and is open to the public welcoming all ages from birth to adult.
