Following the recognition period, the board moved on to the agenda items.

The board unanimously voted to adopt a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a tax abatement in an effort to incentivize bringing a multi-billion-dollar tech center to LaGrange. The specifics of the project were discussed during Monday’s work session.

LaGrange Development Authority President Scott Malone presented the MOU between the LDA and Rosewall Pines Holdings on Monday, which would provide tax incentives in the form of payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT).

The company will bring a technology center to the former Jindal Films plant in LaGrange. The project is expected to bring substantial capital investment and job creation to the community.  The investment is expected to bring 100-plus jobs that are all over $100,000 a year.
