The Mr and Miss Troup High School Scholarship Competition is sponsored by the THS Student Council.

THS clubs, organizations, and sports teams are invited to select candidates who exhibit high academic standards, leadership, and community involvement.

Preliminary judging consists of contestants preparing an application to be scored by off-site adjudicators based on their school and community service, GPA, and extracurricular activities in addition to an interview before a panel of three judges who score students based on appearance, professionalism, communication skills, personality, intellect, and accomplishments.

On the night of the competition, each contestant presents a self-introduction including their accomplishments, interests and future plans.

Finally, students respond spontaneously to an on-stage question.
