The City of LaGrange is updating its Comprehensive Plan and is seeking community input. The LaGrange Comprehensive Plan is the City’s policy document illustrating how the community will grow and develop over the next 20 years. Developed with public participation, the Plan provides both a long-term vision for the community and identifies short-term goals that warrant public attention, action, and investment.

The Comprehensive Plan is developed in accordance with rules established by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) in Chapter 110-12-1 of the Standards and Procedures for Local Comprehensive Planning and in accordance with the Georgia Planning Act. A fourteen-member Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee will help organize and guide the update of this Plan.

The City is asking for the community’s input in creating this Plan. Two town hall meetings will be held to gather input, and a community survey will be conducted to obtain thorough public input.

The public is encouraged to provide feedback through a community survey. To access the survey, go www.surveymonkey.com/r/BMW7DPR.

The public is also invited to attend the upcoming town hall meetings on Wednesday, June 11, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce at 111 Bull St. and Monday, June 16 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the William J. Griggs Recreation Center at 716 Glenn Robertson Dr.

The second reading and final approval of the new plan is expected on Tuesday, October 14, at 5:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers at 208 Ridley Ave.
