The LaGrange High boys tennis team cruised into the state quarterfinals with a 5-0 win over North Clayton on Tuesday. It was a dominant showing for the no. 1 ranked Grangers, who did not even start the best lineup against the Eagles.
#1 Singles: Charlie Battle (LG) defeated Donovan Robinson (NC) 6 – 0, 6 – 0
#2 Singles: Scout Mosley (LG) defeated Quentavius Howard (NC) 6 – 0, 6 – 1
#3 Singles: Towns Weldon (LG) defeated Kei’shun Wood (NC) 6-0, 6-1
#1 Doubles: Sehun Seol and Brody Douhne (LG) defeated Jaylen Ross and Jacobi
Bell-Boyd (L) 6 – 0, 6 – 0
#2 Doubles: LaGrange won by Forfeit
LaGrange will host the winner of Whitewater and Hephzibah by next Monday for the Elite Eight matchup. The Grangers have played the higher-seeded Whitewater Wildcats twice this season, winning both times, including for the region championship.
