David Gallison Gill, 89, of Newnan, GA, died May 1, 2025, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

He was born October 16, 1935, in Topeka, KS, to the late Harry Verlaine Gill and Tressa Mildred (Gallison) Gill.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna Marie (Flynt) Gill.

Dave had a BBA from Washburn University, Topeka, KS. After graduation, he moved to southern California and started his career with North American working on the Apollo space program. Five years later, he began a career at Hughes Aircraft Co that spanned 23 years and took him from California to Tucson, AZ, in 1977, then to LaGrange, GA, 1985. He always had a fondness for model trains, stemming from his father’s career with the Santa Fe Railway Company, and loved to do woodworking. So, when he retired, much to the delight of his grandchildren, he built a large garden railroad layout in his backyard. He was an active member of the Georgia Garden Railroad Society for many years,as well as Kiwanis and Hogansville First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Donna Marie (Flynt) Gill; his daughters, Cynthia Gill-Wall and husband Gary of Newnan,GA, Michelle Sheheane and husband Troy of Newnan GA; grandchildren, Spencer and Carter Sheheane, Jared, Kaitlan and Kassie Wall and Jackson Spencer-Wall and wife Bri.

A ceremony celebrating his life will be held Saturday, May 10, at 2pm, at the Sheheane home
