Woman arrested for throwing hot grease on boyfriend

Police have arrested a LaGrange woman for allegedly throwing hot chicken grease on her boyfriend during a dispute.

Olympia Laster, 43, was arrested by LaGrange Police and charged with Aggravated Battery – Family Violence Act for the incident that hospitalized and severely burned a local man.

On May 6, around 5:17 p.m., officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to Stay Lodge extended stay motel on Whitesville Road in reference to reports of a domestic dispute.

During the subsequent investigation, officers determined that Laster had thrown a pot of hot chicken grease on her live-in boyfriend during a dispute as he sat in a nearby chair.

The 46-year-old victim sustained severe burns to the back of his head, neck, back and shoulders, and was transported to a burn center in Atlanta.

Laster was located nearby and taken into custody for the incident. She is currently being held at the Troup County Jail without bond.

Police say this incident is still under ongoing investigation.
