A 2:00 PM Celebration of Life service for Carol Kay Holden is
scheduled for Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church,
576 Roscoe Rd, Newnan, GA 30263. Following the service, friends and
family are invited to gather in the Parish Hall at St. Paul’s to honor
Carol who unexpectedly passed away at her home April 19th after having
lived life to its fullest for 75 years.

Carol, the daughter of the late Sue Carnahan Reeves and the late
Eldridge Charleston Holden, was born October 18th, 1949 in Shreveport,
Louisiana. Carol, the middle of three daughters took pleasure in
knowing their strong Scottish and Scotch/Irish heritage, which was
ingrained in her by their beloved grandmother, Mary Alma Scott.

After graduating from Shreveport’s Byrd High School in 1967, Carol
moved to LaGrange, Georgia where she married and had two daughters.
She found a love for community while working for the Lagrange Chamber
and found solace teaching Sunday school and attending St. Mark’s
Episcopal Church. Carol made lifelong friendships during her time in
LaGrange.

In 1985 she and her daughters moved to Tyler, Texas where she curated
an organic pest control store front named ‘The Corner Bug Store’ and
was affectionately called “The Ladybug”. Carol’s love of community
while in Tyler was carried on by serving on the hospitality committee
and ultimately chaired the host committee for the East Texas Symphony
Orchestra. She also loved hosting Covenant Group dinners at her home
with members of Christ Episcopal and gained more lifelong friendships.

In 1999 Carol came back to Georgia to be near family. She settled in
Newnan where she carved out a life for herself in real estate and
absolutely loved working downtown for Lindsey’s Realtors until her
final day. Carol’s love of community continued in Newnan by helping
for many years with the local Angel Tree Project where she collected
Christmas presents for hundreds of children in need. The Coweta County
Board of Realtors honored Carol with the well-deserved Humanitarian
and Hall of Fame awards. Like many acts of kindness Carol gave,
volunteerism was not something she told anyone about because to her,
it was a duty. Carol exemplified the spirit of being a good human.
