Two men are facing charges for allegedly burglarizing the Oakfuskee Conservation Center.
On May 16, at 3:38 a.m., deputies with the Troup County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 300 Kingfisher Ln. (Oakfuskee Convention Center) regarding a burglary.
The burglary was discovered after the Troup County Fire Department responded to the location for a Fire Alarm call and their personnel found what appeared to be a burglary. Once deputies arrived, they found clear evidence of a burglary due to the amount of damage from inside the location, which included the discharge of fire extinguishers inside the building.
Deputies notified the TCSO Criminal Investigations Division who arrived a short time later. Through the use of camera systems and other technology, Investigators were quickly able to identify two males who drove to the location, entered the building and then caused the damage before leaving. The two suspects were arrested a short time later and transported to the Troup County Jail.
Arrested were Jason Moore, 41 years old, and Devin Moore, 20 years old, both of LaGrange. They are charged with Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property, both Felonies.
