During the Troup County Board of Commissioners work session on Tuesday morning, the county recognized the Leadership Academy Class of 2025.
The county employees recognized in this year’s cohort of up-and-coming leaders received their certificates completing the leadership class taught by LEAD Advisors, a LaGrange-based advisory firm that works to improve employee cultures, teams, leaders and individuals.
“We are proud to recognize the achievements of the Troup County Leadership Class of 2025, a distinguished group of dedicated managers and supervisors. These individuals successfully completed an intensive in-person management training curriculum in March, delivered in collaboration with our esteemed training partner, LEAD Advisors,” said Denise Smith, Customer Service and Grants Manager for Troup County.
In the past, the county has sent employees through similar leadership training, but it was done via virtual training.
“This comprehensive program was designed to enhance leadership capabilities, strengthen management skills and empower participants to drive organizational success within Troup County through hands-on learning, expert instruction and practical application. These leaders have demonstrated their commitment to professional growth and excellence in public service to celebrate their accomplishments,” Smith said.
“We are honored to be here, and honored to partner with our home county to help develop leaders within our community. At the end of the day, leadership matters, and so that’s the work that we do,” said Alan Kemper, Founder of LEAD Advisors.
Employees receiving their plaques for completing the leadership program include Christopher Barnett, Toby Davis, Chase Freeman, Brad Geter, Ramona Gillham, Robert Holcomb, Toby Turner and David Sprayberry.
“The quality of leaders within an organization has a huge impact – not just on its effectiveness – but on the retention of key people and of the overall happiness of people within your organization, so I appreciate you guys leaning in, growing yourself for the benefit of our community,” Kemper said.
