Suspect accused of attempting to hit another man with van

LaGrange Police have arrested a suspect accused of attempting to purposely hit someone with a vehicle.

Darrell Brown was charged with vehicular assault for a late-night incident over the weekend.

According to police, on June 1, 2025, at around 1:57 a.m., LPD Detective Hackett was traveling down Whitesville Road, when the driver of a Honda Odyssey Van was observed attempting to strike a pedestrian in the parking lot of the Whitesville Place shopping center on Whitesville Road. 

Police say the suspect driver, later identified as Darrell Brown, was seen attempting to strike a male victim intentionally. 

Brown was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and later transported to the Troup County Jail.

The LaGrange Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division has assumed responsibility for the investigation, which remains active and ongoing. Brown was not on probation or parole at the time of his arrest.
