High School Seniors receive Hatton Lovejoy Scholarships

The Hatton Lovejoy Scholarship Committee announces the award often scholarships to outstanding high school seniors from this area who recently graduated.

Each student will receive $2,250 per semester of college attendance for four years, provided they continue to remain qualified.

All students were in the top 5 percent of their class.

The students and colleges they have chosen are:

  • Eva Carnes, University of Georgia
  • Lucas Ernstberger, Georgia Institute of Technology
  • John Hurd III, University of Georgia
  • Sydnee Jennings, University of Georgia
  • Kylah Johnson, University of Georgia
  • Prem Kamat, Emory University
  • Emma Maradik, University of Georgia
  • Yashvi Modi, Princeton University
  • Caralyn Skinner, University of Georgia
  • Grady Westmoreland, University of Georgia

This is the sixtieth year for the Hatton Lovejoy Scholarship Plan, which was established by Fuller E. Callaway Foundation in memory of the late Hatton Lovejoy, a LaGrange attorney.

The value of the scholarships awarded this year is $180,000, and the total value of the scholarships awarded exceeds $7 million.

The Scholarship Committee is composed of Mrs. Kim Bond, Mrs. Nancy Stevens, and Tripp Penn.
