LaGrange native and U.S. Navy Petty Officer Jacob Dallas Tucker, was recently honored for outstanding military leadership and professionalism.
In April, Petty Officer Tucker was named Junior Sailor of the Quarter (JSOQ) at Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington, Tennessee. JSOQ recognizes enlisted sailors (E1-E6) who demonstrate outstanding performance, leadership and professionalism during a specific quarter. JSOQ is an important recognition program used to promote excellence within the Navy and honors Sailors who excel in their roles and duties.
On May 30, 2025, Petty Officer Jacob Tucker was awarded Gold Star (NAM) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Award in lieu of his third award, for Professional Achievement in the Superior Performance of his duties while serving as Watch Commander, Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington, Tennessee.
Displaying unmatched initiative, MA2 Tucker flawlessly performed his duties in response to a Command Directed Mandatory Base Housing Evacuation during a Severe Flood warning. His Rapid Response Diving into Flooding Waters to Conduct a Check of A Submerged Vehicle, and implementation of Security measures ensured the Safety and Security of Personnel Transiting off the Installation, Leading to a Successful Evacuation of 179 Families.
Petty Officer Tucker’s exceptional professionalism, personal initiative, and unswerving devotion to duty reflected credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.
During his many deployments for military duty, Petty Officer Tucker has served at Djibouti, Horn of Africa; Bahrain; Dubai/United Arab Emirates and Naval Shipyard at Kittery, Maine prior to his transfer to NSA-Mid-South Millington, Tennessee.
Jacob Tucker is a 2013 graduate of LaGrange High School and has a degree in Criminal Justice from American Military University. Master At Arms Second Class Tucker serves as NSA-Mid South Command Investigator and lives with his wife Vanessa and their son Austin Tucker. Jacob is the son of Retired US Navy Veteran Norma M. Tucker of LaGrange, Georgia.
