The LaGrange Art Museum is proud to announce the completion of its 2025 carpet wall renovation, a transformative project made possible through the generous support of the Georgia Council for the Arts and the Callaway Foundation. This important update enhances the Museum’s ability to present exhibitions in an inviting setting that reflects its long-standing commitment to visual arts, education, and community engagement.

To celebrate this exciting milestone, the Museum invites the public to a special Permanent Collection: Summer Relaxation Exhibition reception and renovation celebration on Friday, June 27, from 6–8 p.m. The galleries are giving major summer vibes, and this festive evening is the perfect opportunity for the community to experience the beautifully upgraded space, enjoy inspiring works from the Museum’s permanent collection, and mingle with fellow art lovers.

Since its founding in 1963, the LaGrange Art Museum has been dedicated to enriching the cultural and educational fabric of the region. The 2025 renovation promotes the Museum’s mission by improving the presentation of art and ensuring a warm, welcoming environment for all visitors. Free admission for Troup County residents and a wide range of educational programs make the Museum a vital cultural asset to the region.

“This renovation is a reflection of our devotion to both artistic excellence and accessibility,” said Lauren Oliver, Director of the LaGrange Art Museum. “Housed in the historic Troup County Jail, our building is as rich in history as the artworks it contains. With these updates, we’re proud to offer a more refined space that honors the creativity of the artists we showcase and elevates the experience for every visitor who walks through our doors. Many thanks to Principle Construction for their skilled craftsmanship and attention to detail throughout the renovation process. Their professionalism and care helped preserve the character of our historic space while bringing it new life for future generations.”

The Museum remains dedicated to lifelong learning and community connection, offering exhibitions, workshops, camps, lectures, outreach programs, and the beloved LaGrange Southeast Regional biennial competition.
