Helen Williams Baker, the widow of Andy Baker, died June 24, 2025.
She was born July 16,1927 in Searles, Alabama. She was 97 years old.
Helen was the daughter of the late Emma Lee and Braxton Williams.
She was the granddaughter of the late Joe and Pearl Estes, with whom she and her late sister, Nelle Williams Yates, lived while attending Chambers County High School at Milltown, Alabama.
Both later moved to LaGrange, Georgia. It was here that she began a 51-year tenure of employment with Callaway Mills Company (later as Callaway Foundation Inc.).
Helen was a 72-year member of Second Baptist Church. Although Helen had no children of her own, she was a doting aunt who loved unconditionally her loving and devoted nieces and nephew.
She is survived by: Tracy Spinks Wood and her family, Emory, Jennifer, Michael, Will, Lauren, Patrick, Erin, Pierce and Baker Tweety Yates and her family, Trey, Blair, Dave and Jackson. Ben Yates and his family, Laurie, Lauren, Rich, Rachel, Aubrey and Charlee. A wonderful neighbor of 48 years, Jerry Rigby. And her beloved Baker family all originally from Bowdon, Georgia.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11 A.M. at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Pastor Max McCord officiating.
Family received frinends prior to the service. Family interment services we conducted at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
Flowers were accepted, or contributions can be made to Second Baptist Church or WellStar West Georgia Hospice in memory of Helen W. Baker.
