Aidan Collins capped off a stellar career on the soccer field for the LaGrange Grangers in style, being named the Region 2-3A Player of the Year.

The recent high school graduate capped off his best season in blue and white by leading the Grangers in goals with 18 and finished third on the team in assists (5), just one behind the team leaders. Collins directly contributed to 42% of the total goals that LaGrange scored in 2025.

“He really came into his own last year and has stepped up even more this season as a senior,” LaGrange head coach Shane Pulliam said during the 2025 season. “He’s becoming the player that we always knew he could be.”

All of his goals were important in his senior season, but none were quite as memorable as the one he scored with just a minute on the clock at Callaway Stadium to give the Grangers a 2-1 win over their rival Troup.

“This win is about the team,” Collins said after that game, brushing off any personal glory. “It felt good to score that one for my team.”

While his offensive prowess is how Collins has made a name for himself, he is also willing to get stuck into a challenge. Collins led the Grangers with four yellow cards as a senior.

The attacking midfielder broke onto the scene as a junior, leading LaGrange with 13 goals and tying for the team lead with six assists.

While his time with the Grangers has come to an end, his time playing soccer locally is not quite over as Collins plays with local semi-professional team UMA FC. Collins was originally committed to playing at the University of Mobile, but is now weighing multiple college offers.
