On Saturday, the streets of LaGrange will once again play host to hundreds of classic autos for the fourth annual Downtown LaGrange Car, Truck & Bike Show.

The event is sponsored by NFL25, ProRides and Troup County Commissioner Jimmy McCamey, who also helps organize the show.

McCamey said the car show began four years ago as a way to support local organizations and agencies, while gathering auto enthusiasts for a fun family event. That first year, the show raised $5,000 for the Troup County Homeless Coalition and local homeless shelter.

For the 2025 event, the money will go toward preventing violence in LaGrange.

“It’s going to be for crime prevention,” McCamey said. “[All] the profits will go back to the LaGrange Police Department to help with some grassroots-type work to combat some of the violence we’re seeing in our community.”

Not only does the show bring in funds for local nonprofit initiatives, it also brings people into the businesses downtown. While most shows of the like are in fields or parking lots where food vendors have to be brought in, with this show, the event is around the square, and attendees can visit downtown eateries.

Initially, organizers invited various car clubs throughout West Georgia, but last year they included cars from Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.

Entry fee for the show is $25, which goes to a good cause, as McCamey said, but many often give more.

“[Entrants] are very gracious,” McCamey said. “Over the past three years, everyone has given much more. That’s why we’ve been able to come up with so much money.”

For the people who want to just walk through downtown and view the cars, the show is free.

“We don’t charge a fee for citizens to view the cars. We encourage our families to come out. They can take pictures with cars and make memories. It’s just a really fun-filled event with a bunch of guys who love cars and are also willing to assist in fundraising efforts to help local organizations,” McCamey said.

For the show, East and West Lafayette Square will be closed to traffic from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Broad Street to Vernon Street.

Parking will be closed on North Lafayette Square from Church Street to Ridley Avenue, South Lafayette Square, from Bull Street to Main Street, and on Main Street, from South Lafayette Street to East Broome Street, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
