Man tased by police

 Public Safety Reports

One man was tased by LaGrange police and arrested for refusing to obey officer’s commands outside a home in the 1100 block of Lindsey Street just before midnight on Monday.

Officers were called out to the house because the man was allegedly trying to break down a relative’s front door, the report stated.

The man reportedly refused to speak with police and jerked away from them when officers tried to handcuff him, according to the report.

The suspect then became combative and took a fighting stance against officers, a police report said. An officer then deployed his Taser, causing the man to fall to the ground. He was not hurt, a report stated.

The man was arrested and cited for obstruction and public drunkenness.

Stolen sign

An employee of the First Tee Golf Course at 1220 Lafayette Parkway told LaGrange police someone stole an illuminated portable road sign.

The employee believed the theft happened either Sunday or Monday night, the report stated.

The sign was valued at $500.
