Fraternity crowns Little Miss Krimson and Kreme

LaGRANGE — LaGrange Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity recently held its annual little Miss Krimson and Kreme Pageant as part of its local scholarship fundraising drive.

Branijah Gilger, an eighth grader at Greenville Middle-High School, was crowned queen for 2016. She is the daughter of Shamika Hines and Brandon Gilger and was sponsored by fraternity member Leon Coverson.

Also chosen for the court is Kofe McFarland, who was crowned first runner-up.

Kofe, a sixth grader at Gardner Newman Middle School, is the daughter of Courtney McFarland and Renaldo Edmonson. She was sponsored by fraternity member Albert Gilliam.

Chosen as second runner-up is JaKayla Cameron, a fifth grader at Glanton Elementary in Grantville. She is the daughter of LaShondra Gates and Michael Cameron and was sponsored by fraternity member Alexander Lakes.

Also competing in the pageant were Paris Robinson and Tziah Settles.

Paris is a fifth grader at Bethlehem Temple School and the daughter of Michael Robinson. She was sponsored by fraternity member Albert fackson.

Tziah SettJes is an eighth grader at Callaway Middle School and the daughter of Akhenaten and Jean ell-Spence Settles. She was sponsored by fraternity member George Baker.

All contestants dazzled the audience with amazing talent performances, including dancing, singing, modeling and dramatic presentations, according to fraternity members.

Several dance and talent performances were also provided by Anointed Jackson Angels, Teens R Us & True Essence, Zion Hill Praise Steppers, Anna Pace, McKayla Owens and Denita Robinson.

The pageant was further highlighted by several former candidates and past queens, some of which also performed and provided inspiration for the contestants. Baker is the fraternity’s president and Albert Gilliam is the pageant chairman.
