Hills and Dales Estate hosts its seventh annual Children’s Christmas Celebration at the visitor center starting at 9:30 a.m Saturday.

“This event has become a community favorite and once again, we will have a rollicking good time,” said Carleton B. Wood, Hills and Dales Estate executive director.

All morning children will be decorating gingerbread houses and crafting Christmas ornaments. At 10 a.m. musician Robin Treadwell and storyteller Debbie Burdette will lead a holiday sing-a-long accompanied by an old-fashioned Christmas story time.

Santa will arrive at 11:30 a.m. after the stories and sing-a-long. The event is set to last until about 1 p.m.

“We invite everyone to come and enjoy the festivities along with fresh cider and Christmas cookies, but come early as our supply of gingerbread houses is limited,” Wood said. “… We usually get about 175 kids and it’s great fun.”

All children’s activities are free. Tours of the Hills and Dales home, which is decked out for the holidays, will be available at regular price.
